Polish Independence Day, 11 November, falls on a Wednesday this year. Shops are closed on the holiday, but Poland’s holiday trading ban does not cover food and drink, so cafés in Kołobrzeg can open, and most of them will. Below are the places that will definitely welcome guests, and those that are open on an ordinary Wednesday, with their hours.

These cafés are open on 11 November

These places will be open on the holiday:

  • Colbergcoffee Palarnia Kawy, Dubois 21A: 8:30 to 19:00. Coffee from its own roastery, handmade bakes and a quiet place to talk.
  • W Filiżance Café, Narutowicza 11: 9:00 to 21:00. A retro interior, a huge choice of coffees and thick hot chocolate.
  • Słodki Domek nad Morzem, Jedności Narodowej 49: 10:30 to 18:00. A cottage in a historic park on the way to the western beach, with waffles and mulled wine.

On Wednesdays the bistro is open from 12:00 to 22:00, and on the holiday it is best to book on +48 696 917 226. More in our article about Neo Bistro.

St Martin’s croissants (rogale świętomarcińskie), filled with white poppy seed and nuts, are sold at the Cafe Marona Gruszecki café and patisserie at Łopuskiego 26/28, open on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 19:00. On 11 November it pays to come early, as that is the day most people want them. More places for good cake are in our guide to patisseries in Kołobrzeg.

How to plan the holiday

Start the morning with breakfast at Jaremko Soli or Café La Mer. At midday, take a walk along the promenade and the pier: at this time of year the beach is empty and the air cool and fresh. In the afternoon, stop for coffee and cake at Colbergcoffee or hot chocolate at W Filiżance, and in the evening for goose at Neo Bistro. If you are going home by train, have a last coffee at Dworcova before 16:00.

Weather, sea temperature and what is open after the season are covered in our article Kołobrzeg in November. Places open all year are listed on the page cafés open all year.
