BOKA: gateaux and individual desserts
BOKA at Solna 11C is a patisserie workshop making celebration cakes and individual desserts. The counter holds eclairs, chocolate, coffee, pistachio and vanilla, along with mousses, lemon meringues and brownies. A good choice when you want something more refined than a classic slice of cake, or a cake for an occasion. It is open daily from 9:00.
Stara piekarnia Wierzbowscy
Stara piekarnia Wierzbowscy (the Old Wierzbowscy Bakery) at Jedności Narodowej 51 in Radzikowo opens earliest on this list: Monday to Saturday at 7:00, on Sunday at 8:00, and stays open until 21:00. Besides bread there are cakes and breakfasts, a garden and parking. Handy when you want to pick up something sweet to take home.
Colbergcoffee: artisan bakes and celebration cakes
Colbergcoffee at Dubois 21A in the Old Town is not a typical patisserie, but it is the place to go for good cake. The bakes are artisan and free of artificial additives, and the best known are the cinnamon rolls, which go well with coffee from the roastery's own roast.
The bakes change with the fruit: there may be plum and cinnamon rolls, raspberry and white chocolate rolls, or blueberry buns with crumble.
Colbergcoffee also makes cakes to order, both artistic and classic. The café is open all year from 8:30, on Sundays from 9:00, until 19:00, and on Fridays and Saturdays until 20:00.
Cukiernia&Cafe RS
Cukiernia&Cafe RS at Wylotowa 87c, also in Radzikowo, is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. It is a smaller place rated ★ 4.7, where you can eat cake with a coffee or take it away.
Coffee & Cake by Marta Klim
Cake is right there in the name. Coffee & Cake by Marta Klim at Towarowa 14, near the port, is open daily from 9:00 to 21:00, so it is a good choice for dessert in the evening too. Rated ★ 4.7, with a garden.
Fresh doughnuts at Kupiec
For fresh doughnuts (pączki) it is worth stopping at Kupiec, Fredry 10. It is the same brand as Kupiec Manufaktura Lodów on Wylotowa, best known for its natural ice cream.
Where to order a celebration cake
For a celebration cake, the best choices are Gruszecki patisserie (Cafe Marona Gruszecki) at Łopuskiego 26/28, open daily from 9:00 to 19:00, or Colbergcoffee, which makes artistic and classic cakes. BOKA at Solna 11C also makes cakes and individual desserts.
For a bigger cake, for a birthday or a First Communion, it is best to order a few days ahead and ask straight away about flavours and size.
