November is a quiet month in Kołobrzeg. The beach is empty, the day ends before four in the afternoon, and you can easily find a free table in the Old Town cafés. Below is what to expect from the weather and the sea, how the holidays fall and what is open after the season.

November weather: about 7 degrees by day

Thirty years of data, 1991–2020, give an average of 7.2°C by day and 3.7°C at night. The start of the month is still mild: in the first ten days of November the daytime average is 9.1 degrees, in the middle ten days 7.2 and in the last ten days just 5.3. Nights drop from 5.3 to 2.1 degrees.

It rains on average on 11 days a month, about 48 mm in total. Days reaching 10 degrees happen six or seven times on average, mostly in early November, and the record in those thirty years is 17.1°C, on 2 November 2020. Frost comes on about four nights a month, usually towards the end. The coldest night in that period was -11.3°C, on 21 November 1998, but days that stay below zero around the clock are rare in November.

Little sun and wind off the sea

November is the darkest month of autumn. The sun shines on average just under 4 hours a day, compared with over 6 in October. On top of that, there is almost always wind by the sea, so it feels colder than the thermometer says. A warm jacket, a hat and waterproof shoes are essentials in November, even for a short walk on the promenade.

Sea temperature in November

The Baltic cools all month. On average the water at Kołobrzeg is around 8.5°C in November: 10.5 degrees at the start of the month, 9 degrees in the middle and 6.5 in the last ten days. Far too cold for an ordinary swim, but November is when the winter-swimming season starts on the Baltic.

The shortest days: sunset before 16:00

On 1 November the sun sets at 16:24, on 11 November at 16:05, and by the middle of the month before four o'clock, at 15:58. At the end of November, on the 30th, sunset is at 15:40 and sunrise not until 7:52. Over the month the day shortens from 9 h 26 min to 7 h 48 min.

In practice, plan a walk along the sea between 11:00 and 14:00, when it is lightest. In November, coffee after dark starts before four o'clock.

1 and 11 November in Kołobrzeg

In 2026 All Saints' Day falls on a Sunday and Polish Independence Day, 11 November, on a Wednesday. On public holidays some cafés shorten their hours or close, so check the hours on the café's page or call before you go. On 1 November many people in Poland visit cemeteries, so expect heavy traffic and difficult parking around the municipal cemetery.

What is open after the season

In mid-October nearly eighty places in our database were open. Temporarily closed after the season were Baskijka in the spa district, Kruszonka in Radzikowo, Kawiarnia NO.54 and Kolorowa Cafe 2.0 in Grzybowo, and the seasonal Coffee Cart, which returns in summer. We checked this on 13 October.

Open all year, winter included, are Colbergcoffee and Domek Kata in the Old Town, and Widokówka Cafe and the revolving café in the spa district. The full list is on the page cafés open all year.
