Neo Bistro on Mariacka Street, a few steps from the cathedral, is a restaurant where fusion cooking meets coffee made on equipment any good café would be proud of. Add desserts, cocktails and a warm, intimate room where it is easy to hide away from the world. Guests rate it 4.9 from over six hundred reviews. From 6 November seasonal goose joins the menu.
Where Neo Bistro is
It is at Mariacka 20A, in the centre of the old town, looking out on the cathedral, which is lit up in the evening. A green neon sign glows above the door, and the board by the entrance tells you what to expect: modern cuisine, coffee, desserts, cocktails and wine.

Interior: warm and intimate, perfect for a date
Inside it is bright and cosy. White brick, greenery trailing from the ceiling, a herringbone floor, green banquettes and small lamps on the tables create a warm feel. The room has several nooks where two people can sit away from other guests, which makes Neo Bistro one of the best date spots in Kołobrzeg. Desserts and wines wait in the display by the bar.

Coffee on top-class equipment
Behind the bar there is a two-group espresso machine and a Victoria Arduino Mythos grinder, kit you find in the best cafés. The espresso is dense and sweet, and milk drinks get careful latte art. The menu also has unusual coffee variations, matcha and a wide choice of teas brewed at the right temperature, from milk oolong to rooibos. The sea buckthorn tea is praised by everyone who tries it.

What to eat
The kitchen combines techniques and flavours from around the world with Polish produce, and dishes are carefully made and beautifully plated. Guests most often praise the carpaccio, fish soup with saffron and the chowder, slow-cooked then roasted duck, duck gnocchi, ribs and salmon with black rice. Seasonal specials appear too, such as pierogi with pumpkin, ricotta and a hint of orange. Vegetarians have plenty to choose from, and there is a children’s menu.
Leave room for dessert: the cheesecake and the tiramisu with a mushroom note are memorable. In the evening, cocktails and wine from the well-stocked bar go well with dinner.
Goose from 6 November
Autumn at Neo Bistro means goose. From 6 November goose dishes are on the menu, and for the November holidays, especially St Martin’s Day on 11 November, it is worth booking ahead. Reservations by phone on +48 696 917 226 or online. As the hosts put it, autumn tastes best around a shared table.
