After the season more and more people come to Kołobrzeg to work remotely. Laptop in the morning, a walk along the sea in the afternoon, dinner in the Old Town in the evening. Here is where it is comfortable to work, how to plan the day and where to take a break from the screen.
Where to sit with a laptop
The best places for work are those where you can stay longer and whose opening hours cover a full working day. Kołobrzeg has a few:
- W Filiżance Café at Narutowicza 11 in the centre: Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 21:00, on Sundays from 10:00. We have confirmed Wi-Fi here, and on a fine day you can sit in the garden. ★ 4.5 from over 1,200 reviews.
- Jaremko Soli at Sienkiewicza 17D in the Radzikowo neighbourhood opens earliest, at 8:00, on Sundays at 9:00. Specialty coffee, breakfast all year and parking by the door. ★ 4.9.
- Caffe Venezia Moderno at Solna 11a is open from 9:00 to 20:00, on Fridays and Saturdays until 21:00. You can have breakfast there too, which saves a separate trip when you work in the morning. There is also parking.
- Coffee & Cake by Marta Klim at Towarowa 14, near the port, is open daily from 9:00 to 21:00. It has a garden and parking. ★ 4.7.
We have not checked for sockets by the tables everywhere, so come with a charged battery or ask the staff for a table near a socket.
How to plan a working day by the sea
It is best to work in the morning and around midday and go for a walk in the afternoon while it is still light. In autumn the days get shorter fast: at the start of October the sun sets around 18:30, and after the clocks change on 25 October it sets before 17:00. If you want to see the sunset over the sea, close the laptop earlier than you would at home.
The beach and the pier are close to the centre and the spa district, so a walk fits easily between two meetings. The forecast for the coming days is on our Kołobrzeg weather page.
Good manners when working in a café
- When you stay longer, order more than one coffee, for example breakfast or cake.
- At breakfast time and at weekends, do not take a big table on your own when families are waiting.
- Take video calls with headphones and a quiet voice, or step outside.
- Free tables are easiest to find on weekday mornings.
Coffee without a laptop: Colbergcoffee
There are also places where it is better to leave the laptop behind. Colbergcoffee at Dubois 21A in the Old Town is a café for a quiet conversation over coffee, without laptops. A good place when you want a break from the screen after work, to meet someone or simply to sit over a cup and a slice of cake.
Colbergcoffee is open all year, Monday to Thursday from 8:30 to 19:00, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 to 20:00 and on Sundays from 9:00 to 19:00. It is rated ★ 4.9 from over two thousand reviews.
